Self-portrait project
This project began as an exploration of my own identity. Having grown up in townships in the Northern part of the country, I lost touch with my cultural traditions. And every attempt to understand, this turned seemingly fabricated. The type of museum-ified image intends to tell a history, or misplaced stories but fails to tell objective individual histories. However, it is the stories told in spaces such as museums that continue to be projected on to individuals to catalogue or define them.
